Default Heal Party?

Kind of a narrow question, but is it too far-fetched to use this skill with Mind Blast+Rodgort's+Etc. ?

It could be done, Mind Blast could power it easily enough as long as you don't spam it. For PvE, it should work fine, in PvP youll just get leaked/dshotted.

Easily viable.
Just use moderation if you're running Rodgort's and HP together, even MB can be a little taxed by that much energy drain.

It's pretty much the same as spamming blinding flash on recharge. The only problem with the HP is that it's a lot more vulnerable to interrupts even with a 40/40 heal set.

Ele's are far more suited for extinguish/heal party spam. With mind blast, they aren't as crippled by enchantment stripping as well, unlike Healer's boon.

if you wanna be defensive as a mind blaster it's probably better to just add some wards rather than heals

the most i'd ever do would be convert or extinguish

Uhh...do you know what you're talking about? Ether prod heal party spammers were huge before, and mind blast gives you the same energy access.

Tenshi is hardcore blow shit up. I agree with him sometimes but personally though I have seen the mindblast heal party eles and such I dont care for them and dont find them all that effective, aegis is about the only one I kinda like. They can do good.

Thanks for all your opinions, this is for general PvE (not PvP of any kind)

Heal Party works just fine on a MB + RI Ele in PvE.

But to be honest though, I think I'd rather have Wards or Aegis on an Ele than Heal Party.
Wards and Aegis are just too damn good in PvE.

For PvE, I'd be tempted to take Breath of the Great Dwarf as an 'OH SHIT! RED BARS GOGO!!!' button; it gives you party-wide health support whilst still allowing you to spec Earth, Prot or Air for other defensive utilities.

For PVE: Mindblast +wards +Breath of Great Dwarf imo.

Heal Party is too slow when mobs have interrupts (and those spiders with the Pve monster skill that doubles your cast time with kill you)

I personally used to use Heal Party when flagging in 2005 and also when running Fire in PVE (because Fire had super long recharges and everyone wanted nukers...

Times have changed, so should you

I still use it on my ele, it's a good short recharge party support. Breath of the great dwarf has a shit recharge, wards don't help against hexes and conditions. Usually don't spec into anything other then energy storage + xx magic, so I'm only losing a few points of unneeded energy.

The thing with Heal Party is you end up spending 15 energy on it and you get a 60ish to 70ish partywide heal provided you invest 8-10 attribute levels in Healing Prayers. That is assuming that 2 second cast doesn't get shut down. Not counting Glyph of Energy,Mind Blast, Glowing Gaze, Glowstone, Glowing Ice, or other energy management you need 11.25 seconds of 4 energy pips to gain 15 energy so if you're running something with Rodgort's Invocation, Meteor Shower, Searing flames (useless against Destroyers) or other 15 to 25 energy skill(s).

Breath of the Great Dwarf, while on 15 recharge, only is 10 energy and 1 cast...plus it removes a condition (Flaming Djinn anyone?). It is much more flexible as a multi-purpose skill.

Sure you cannot spam it on 2 recharge (4 recharge to be honest since you have to count 2 cast time but it is less likely to be shut down with Savage Shot from a Destroyer of Deeds or Power Leaked by a Destroyer of Thoughts.

It might not be as viable (as a heal) when you have rank 3 Dwarven Reputation (45 HP healed at Rank 3 Dwarven) but when you get to 6 it hits that magical 52 HP point.

You can also try out TNTF if you have high enough Sunspear rank. I know it's been nerfed for non-para primaries, but it still provides a nice 4 secs of damage reduction and a party-wide heal at the end.

HP is nice on a pve ele, if the monks happen to suck you can really help out a lot.
